Adapted Cortex
Adapted Cortex is a cyberpunk idle RPG prototype with a lot of systems and a layer of hidden knowledge.
Right now, I'm looking for feedback on the game systems. Are they working at all? Is something obvious missing? How does it feel to play the game? I don't want to expand content on a broken foundation.
Almost all the art is done by me, and I'm not a great artist. I know it looks a bit naive, but I'm trying to keep everything coherent, and I'm improving over time, so your comments will be helpful as well :)

Coding about stopping crafting while in battle seems like going wrong. Crafting seems works only in battle, still there's nothing actual progress.
I've fixed it, thanks for noticing, it was not caused by combat, but reduction speed calculation.
So the only option I've found to probably progress after solar farm is earn 1k credits and talk to the health insurance guy. The best way I've found to earn credits is chopping trees? Feels rather slow. I may end up doing it because I am intrigued by the game, but I wish the pacing was a bit faster or there were better ways to earn money (such as learning more crafting recipes when levelling up). Also I want my guy to wear clothes eventually.
Thank you! The best way to earn credits should be crafting from raw resources, but for now, logs should be enough. I'm glad you're intrigued, there isn’t much content yet, but I'm working on it after receiving encouraging feedback. So yeah, for now after opening solar farm there is nothing much to do.
Clothes are also in progress, although they will come later, because I want to create a customization system for the player, and it takes time to draw the animations.
Gotta say the foundation is good and the gameplay loop there havent found any bugs and i was generly fun expierience not much to say other than just to expanding on what you have done right now
Thanks for your feedback! That's a relief to hear after all that work without another pair of eyes.
Walking around took forever. Some kind of map. I liked that resource gathering It would auto move to next node. Resizable window. not everyone has giant monitor or High Res set so having to scroll up and down and left and right to see the whole view wasn't fun.
Thanks for the feedback! The big, non-resizable window is a limitation of itch.io that I don't know how to fix. You can play in fullscreen, but I understand that it's not optimal. You can also zoom out the page, the game will adapt to this. The game looks better when you can see more, in the future, I will include desktop builds, so you will be able to choose your resolution.
Walking speed can be improved by wearing gear, so the base speed is pretty slow.
I like the overall style of the game its a little slow at the start and I would like to know what ranking up my skills does.
But so far, I am really liking the foundation that you have made
Thanks! Levelups are indeed unintuitive. I should at least show some obvious effects, like reducing gathering time or improving hit chance, but I still want other aspects to be explored.
